Blog posts helps improve your websites seo and as well as users visiting the website by giving them useful information, updates, and news.

Having a filter tab for your blog posts helps users to easily find specific blogs they want to check by filtering them with categories or tags. Especially if you have tons of blog posts added to your websites.

If your website was built by Refari, it typically includes one of the two types of blog widgets we use on client websites:

1. Premium Addons Blog Widget

OR

2. Elementor Default Widget

You will need to identify which widget varient you are using to know which set of instructions to use.

Here's how you can determine which widget your website uses:

1. To identify the premium addon's widget, check if your widget has advanced settings. If it does, it's made with the premium addon's widget.

2. To determine if your widget is the Elementor default widget, look for advanced settings. If there are no advanced settings, it's using the default Elementor widget.

1. Premium Addons Blog Widget

Now, let's explore how to add filter tabs if your website's blog page is created using the Premium Addon widget.

Here’s the steps on how to add filter tabs on your blog posts with Premium Addons Blog Widget :

1. First go to your Blog/News page and edit your page by clicking the “Edit with Elementor”

2. Then to add the filter in your blog widget simple go to : Content Tab > Advance Settings > Filter Tabs (Click the toggle button to enable the filter tabs feature)

3. After enabling the filter tabs feature in the blog widget, an option will popup to select where you want to filter your blog posts to “category or tags”. Just simply click the dropdown to select (in this example we selected “Category”), and now the filter tabs are added on your blogs.

**Note: Make sure that blog posts are categorized by different categories or tags for this to work**

4. You can also add some style on the filter tabs by simply going to: Style Tab > Filter Tab, and now you can change the fonts, background colors, font colors etc.

5. Once you are done with the changes just simply click “Update” button on the lower bottom left to update the changes in your blog page.

2. Elementor Default Widget

First, it's important to know that you can't directly add filter tabs if your blog widget is the default Elementor one. Here's what you need to do:

Request the Feature: You can't add filter tabs on your own if you're using the default Elementor widget. To get this feature, you need to contact Refari support and ask them to add it to your website.

Once they've added the filter tab feature, you can customize and manage tabs as you like. Here's how:

1. To add more tabs, Open Elementor by clicking "Edit with Elementor."

2. Inside Elementor, locate the tabs you want to modify. Look for the Edit Icon list on the left.

3. Click on "Clone" or "Add Item" to create new tabs. You can then name these tabs and provide their corresponding URLs.

4. If you're unsure where to find the URL, you can locate it in the WordPress backend by navigating to "Posts" and then selecting "Categories" or "Tags."

5. After adding all the details, click "Publish" to make your new tabs live on your website.

If you ever encounter any challenges while implementing these steps, please don't hesitate to create a support ticket detailing the issue, and we will promptly assist you in resolving it.
