If you are wanting to setup JobAdder to send emails on your domains behalf OR your JobAdder emails are going into spam/junk then this article is just for you!

The instructions below use refari.co as example domains throughout, please replace this with your domain!

Adding a domain

In order to send from a domain, you must add the domain to JobAdder.

Step 1: Login to JobAdder (If you're already logged in, jump to step 2)

Step 2: Navigate to your account admin settings

  • In the bottom left of your screen, click on "Account" and then click on "Admin".

Step 3: Check to see if your domain is available for email sending (Optional)

  • Click on the submenu "Users" and check to see there is a user added with your domains, for example @refari.co.
  • If one doesn't exist for your domain then either add one via the "New User" button in the top right or update a users email address.

Step 4: Navigate to SMTP Settings

  • Click on the submenu "SMTP Settings". You will see one of two screens, depending on the screen different instructions will apply.

Step 5: Domain already added? (Option 1)

If you see a screen similar to the screenshot below, then your domain has already been added, you can skip step 6 and move onto Verifying domain ownership.

Step 6: Add domain (Option 2)

  • If you see a screen similar to the screenshot below, choose the domain that you are interested in using, for example "refari.co", select it from the list and click on the button "Add Domain".

Verifying domain ownership

In order to send emails with your domain, you must verify that your company has permission to email from the domain.

If you have just added your domain, you should be able to skip step 1 and step 2 as JobAdder automatically sends an verification email.

Step 1: Scroll to the domain ownership section

  • At the bottom of the SMTP Settings page, click on the section titled "The Domain ownership must be verified by a User before use."

Step 2: Send verification email

  • Choose the email address from the dropdown for the email address you wish to send the verification email to then click "Send Verification Request".

Step 3: Check your emails

  • You should receive an email from noreply@jobadder.com with the title of "Email sending domain verification required". Click on the button "Confirm and Add Domain"

Step 4: Check if the domain is verified

  • After clicking "Confirm and Add Domain" button in the email, you'll be redirected to a page telling you that the domain has been verified. Click on "View SMTP Settings".
  •  Scroll to the bottom and double check that the domain ownership is "Confirmed"

Share DNS records

For email recipients to receive your emails, you must have a series of DNS records added otherwise they will either end up in the recipients junk/spam or get rejected.

If you have just added your domain, you should be able to skip step 1 and step 2 as JobAdder automatically sends a verification email.

Step 1: Scroll to the Send DNS section

  • At the bottom of the SMTP Settings page, click on the section titled "These DNS Records must be added. Send these details to a valid e-mail address."

Step 2: Send DNS records to Refari

  • If you have a ticket open with Refari Support, enter the email address ryan@refari.co then click "Send DNS Details".

  • If you don't have a ticket open with Refari Support, enter the email address of support@refari.co then click "Send DNS Details".

Step 3: Refari will add your DNS records

  • Refari will add your DNS records and we will reply back to your support ticket informing you that the DNS records have been added.

Usually these DNS records will be added by Refari within 12 hours, but DNS records can take up to 48 hours to propagate worldwide. We aim to update you once we can see the DNS records have propagated worldwide.

Step 4: Verify your DNS Records

  • After receiving an update from Refari informing you that the DNS records were added, scroll to the bottom of the SMTP Settings page and click on the button "Verify Domain". Your page should update to show a screen similar to what you see below.

Step 5: Contact JobAdder support

Only contact JobAdder after Refari have informed you that the DNS records have been added to your domain.

  • The last step is to contact JobAdder support by opening a ticket via https://support.jobadder.com/hc/en-us or via support@jobadder.com. You need to let them know that you've added the CNAME records for your domain so that email tracking can be applied to the emails.

If you prefer you can use the following template to send to JobAdder:

    Hi,

We have followed JobAdders SMTP instructions to allow JobAdder to send emails on the behalf of our domain:
    website.com.

All DNS records have been added including the MX and CNAME records to allow for email tracking.

As such we are contacting you to ask for the CNAME records to be activated within Mailgun for our domain:
website.com as per your SMTP documentation.

    Thank you

Success! JobAdder should now be able to send emails on behalf of your domain!
